Soccer's Dettori Named ECAC Metro Co-Player of the Week

Also Picks up Skyline Rookie of the Week for Third Time

Men's soccer freshman John Dettori (Bay Shore, N.Y./Bay Shore HS) was named ECAC Division III Metro Co-Player of the Week along with Innocent Buule of Rutgers-Newark University.  The Skyline Conference's leading scorer also picked up his third Skyline Rookie of the Week award.

Dettori and the Golden Eagles will play a semifinal game in the Skyline Conference Tournament this coming Friday at 3:00 pm at Diamond in the Pines in Coram.  They will face the winner of the NYU-Poly and Maritme match on Wednesday.

St. Joseph's finished with an unbeaten Skyline record at 8-0, claimed the top-seed and home field advantage throughout the tournament.

Co-Offensive Player of the Week

John Dettori – St. Joseph’s College (NY) Freshman, Forward, Bay Shore, N.Y. Dettori increased his conference-leading totals to 18 goals and 44 points following a week in which he had four goals and an assist. Dettori, who currently leads the conference with 2.32 goals per game, scored the lone goal in the Golden Eagles’ 1-0 win over CCNY. He then recorded a hat trick and added an assist as St. Joseph’s topped Yeshiva to finish unbeaten in Skyline play at 8-0.
